Phil Hyde News – September 29 2009

 My career so far….
I joined Vision Express in 1992 and have undertaken a variety of different roles:
Store Manager, Leeds 1992-1997
Store Manager, Meadowhall 1997-1999
Project Manager, 1999-2000
Regional Manager 2000-2009 (both Joint Venture and Company Operated)
Head of Professional Services – 2009 to present

My highlights….
I’ve enjoyed a varied and fulfilling career with Vision Express which has also seen lots of highlights.  Whilst working as Regional Manager in Ireland in 2002 me and my team won Region of the Year at the annual Company conference and then when I joined the Joint Venture Regional Team took the same award in 2005.  I also picked up Best Regional Manager in 2008.
What do you have to say about Vision Express……..
“I’ve been with Vision Express for a long time and during that time I’ve seen many people develop in their roles to go on to better things for example, associates becoming Joint Venture partners and lab technicians becoming Regional Managers.  By providing people the opportunity to engage in such diverse career paths, gives us as a Company, a great depth of knowledge which is invaluable to our business.  Why wouldn’t people want a career with Vision Express?  I didn’t start my professional career with Vision Express with the skills or knowledge for any of the roles I’ve done, but I’ve been given the opportunity to progress and develop – this was one of my main reasons for joining Vision Express and I’m really glad I did”.
